Credit Card Companies Assisting Fans with JumpCon Refunds

August 13. Rumor has it that some of celebrities' agents are coming together and filing a law suit...

August 1 Update...Riley & Jennifer (Adrian's Angels) are calling all the hotels to see if the events have been officially cancelled. They discovered that some hotel rooms booked via Shane have NOT been cancelled and not all the hotels know the events are cancelled. FYI if you booked a hotel room via Jumpcon, it would be a very good idea to call the hotel direct and make sure
your room has been cancelled.

I suggested in a few chat rooms that fans not wait and to call their credit card companies and ask for help with the JumpCon mess. Some of the fans are getting charge backs from both Paypal and Amex. Update: Paypal will only honor the charge back if the purchase was made within the last 45 days...

"Yeah - I received a refund today for my Jumpcon purchase but it came from my credit card company and not Jumpcon. So, still no word from Jumpcon or Shane and I personally doubt I will ever see a penny from him. To all of you out there still waiting for refunds for the Boston Jumpcon or any of the other Jumpcon events I highly recommend you contact your bank or credit card companies to try and get refunds. If you've called and they said they couldn't help - call back and ask to speak with a supervisor. I know it sucks that we have to do all this work to get back what is rightfully ours, but no one else is going to fight for you - so call!"

" I gave up waiting for my "pending" refund in Paypal - I know that it will never get funded by Shane so I called Amex last night and they are going through the charge-back process for me. They tell me it will take about 30 days to complete but I will get my $300+ dollars back. They tell me I am "not the only one" going through this process with this company (gee what was my firstclue). I Highly recommend anyone who paid by credit card to start the process of charge-back (DO NOT WAIT FOR SHANE TO REFUND YOU).

"I purchased mine through Google, using my American Express card on Feb. 1 for the event in Dallas on November 28. American Express said they will issue me a "temporary credit" until the investigation was completed. So, I guess there is some recourse even for tickets purchased past a 30 or 60 day time frame."

"I filed a claim” with Paypal (I funded my $300+) payment to JumpCon with my Amex card through Paypal. Because it was over 60 days they just closed the claim. No further response from PayPal. I did get a “pending” refund from JumpCon/shane but as he is not funding the bank account attached to that refund it will never come. So last night I called Amex and had them start the charge-back process, they told me no problem and it will take about 30 days to complete. All I had to provide was my “due diligence” that I tried to get a refund myself (the 9 emails, 2 phone calls and some info direct from the JumpCon site about cancellations awas all they asked for). "I recommend anyone who funded their payment through Credit Card to do the charge back process (one of my friends already got his $500+ charge back money from his CitiBank card). Do not wait for JumpCon/Shane to refund you - if he has staff not paid and bouncing checks to them - you have to use whatever method you can to get your money back."

"I called my credit card today and they said they'll do the investigation (I gave her the entire info on everybody trying to get money back) and she said it's likely that they'll refund my money back to my credit card. The lady that I spoke with said "OH My God...so it's not only you that's trying? Ok we'll get right on this and after they've done everything they'll contact me and tell me when I'll get a credit" so I'm hopeful! Honest to God; I hope everyone get
their money
back
!"
