Crafting for Peace

As part of The PEACE Fund's 'Crafting PEACE' initiative, Kathy Johnson has produced 50 exquisite uniquely crafted 36”x64” cream acrylic baby blankets (easily washable) to The PEACE Fund.

The word PEACE has been woven into the design along with the words they stand for – Protect Educate Aid Children Everywhere. We have auctioned one and are sending 40 of these blankets to an Orphange in Haiti where we have a personal contact and will be auctioning off the remaining 9.

I saw this information over at Huffington Press...May fortune 500 companies have matching donations programs. Fans can ask their company to match their donation to The Peace Fund.

Below is a list (by no means exhaustive) of some of the organizations pledging to match employee donations:


•In addition to an initial $250,000 donation to the Red Cross, Kellogg Co. is matching donations dollar-for-dollar from employees.

•Yahoo! is matching donations from its employees up to $1,000 per person. The search company also gave a $25,000 emergency grant to UNICEF.

•Discover is matching cardholder donations, up to $1 million. They donated $100,000 to the Red Cross as well.

•The Stanford School of Medicine is matching donations from students, faculty and staff to the Hopital Albert Schweitzer Haiti. The hospital is 40 miles from Port-au-Prince and is currently the only fully functional medical facility not damaged in the quake.

•Time Warner has created a company fund through Network for Good to match employee donations to the Red Cross, CARE, International Rescue Committee, and UNICEF.

•Microsoft contributed $1.25 million through NetHope and will match employee donations up to $12,000 per worker per year.

•The Canadian government is planning to match, dollar-for-dollar, its citizens' donations, up to $50 million.

•Hormel Foods Corporation is matching employee donations to the American Red Cross, up

Adrian Paul Raising Funds for Haiti

Artist Stefan Duncan (who Adrian met at the Highlander Convetion in 2009) has donated his painting "Bonny Portmore".This beautiful item will be up for bid on Ebay Jany 16 at 10 am. PST.  Both Adrian and the artist have autographed.  Proceeds go to Adrian's Haiti Relief efforts.

Here is an idea that I see Chelsea Clinton using that might work for Peace Fund. She along with instructors are offering a 90 minute spin class in Manhattan, NY.  100% of the proceeds to the Clinton Relief Fund.

I wonder if Adrian could offer a Tai Chi class in Budapest. I know there are alot of  Hungarian fans  who would attend. The idea of a DVD has been discussed on Facebook and there is a lot of excitement and interest.

New Budapest Animation TV Series Tip Top (Posted October 09)

Evergreen will be presenting a brand new series from Wyvern Images in Hungary at the upcoming MIPJunior following discussions in Budapest between Wyvern's Gabor Koltai and Evergreen's Steve Walsh and Alan Rudoff.

"When Gabor showed me the animation I knew that Evergreen had to acquire the distribution rights. TipTop's a 3D series for very small children with bright colours, delightful and very original characters and simple everyday stories." said Steve Walsh.

"We have no real experience of the international marketplace, but we intend to make lots of animated shows, so we were delighted when Steve and Alan came to Budapest to visit the studio and advise us on how best to proceed. Jeremy Irons is one of the most celebrated film, television and stage stars of the last thirty years. He has won the Academy Award (R) (Reversal of Fortune), a Tony Award(R) (The Real Thing), two Emmy Awards(R) (Elizabeth I, The Great War and the Shaping of the 20th Century), two Golden Globe(R) Awards (Elizabeth I, Reversal of Fortune) and a Screen Actors Guild Award(R) (Elizabeth I). His list of memorable films and television include; Brideshead Revisited, The Mission, Dead Ringers, Being Julia, The Merchant of Venice, Lolita, and Appaloosa. The series will be produced as a Canadian-European Treaty co-production in a manner similar to the production of THE TUDORS. It will go into production this spring for a debut in early 2011.

Peace Fund: Forum, Twitter, Facebook Chase & Cafe Press

I'm going to try and do this one more time now that I have calmed myself down and taken a long walk. I see the Peace Fund has implemented Facebook, Twitter and a new forum board where they are discussing the JP Chase Contest I personally worked on for weeks.(FYI, there is already a discussion board connected to Facebook peace Fund). I put alot of time and effort into all this; its obvious to me that my ideas are being used but I'm confused!!

Today Carmel created a Peace Fund account on Twitter. However, I have been up on Twitter since May 2009 talking Adrian Paul and Peace Fund (8 months); this was started by me. Also, I seem to be the (Adminstrator) of a Facebook Causes room. Is this the official Peace Fund Facebook?...No one has communicated anything to me.

In regards to JP Chase, I know Carmel made the first vote but after that she walked away. I did the work; hundreds of people were emailed from
Facebook. Nothing was posted in her chat room so I had to ask Riley to post in APFC & HLWW for me. I am unable to do this because I was banned & blocked from these chat rooms in late 2006. The info about the contest appears on the new forum board today but why wasn't it up on the site during the contest? What is the point of it now?

If it seems like I over-reacting its because this has happened before
in the past (i.e. Highlander Set Visit & Cameo role). Cafe Press was also posted at this blog...Ask James. Also Riley & myself & others submitted the charity to Ebay Giving Works. In 2008 I raised $1,000 on Ebay from the textbooks. still waiting for a word of thanks.

What I wanted was to be acknowledge and thanked and made to feel part of
THE TEAM. But unfortunatley I don't think they are capable of this and I doubt they will ever change. I have taken my things off of Ebay
