"The Source" Premiered on TV

last night and the chat rooms are buzzing with comments from long time fans....

What did I like about Highlander the TV series? I loved the flashbacks, the history, the romance and, of course Adrian in those fantastic period costumes. I also enjoyed the relationships between the characters.....Duncan, Methos, Joe, Ritchie & Amanda. This is what made us come back week after week for 5.5 years. But instead last night we got a more futuristic approach with techno images...

There were a few special moments where we saw the old Duncan MacCleod, the "boy scout" we grew to like so much...the one with his wife Anna in the forest where he tells her that he waited to know why he is who he is... and the one with Joe.

I saw a trailer a few weeks ago with a scene showing Anna, Duncan and their son about 7/8 years old. The impression I got is that Duncan was now mortal, happily married and a father to Connor and living a normal life in Scotland. I'm not sure if this was a fan generated ending or something the Sci Fi cut out.
Was the child the Prize and is Duncan now mortal??

I still want to know why he was imortal. Where did the immortals come from and why? What really was the Guardian guarding?
It does not make any sense to me that finding the Source makes him mortal. To me that would mean that Duncan 400 years old would age rapidly and like the rest of mortality die of old age.
