The Filipinotown Christmas Festival is an annual celebration of Filipino Christmas tradition that starts off with the lighting of the pole mounted lanterns. A parade follows on the first Friday of December where a variety of lantern creations are being displayed on each float with representatives from different Filipino-American groups. The highlight of the festivities is the Miss Filipinotown “Beauty with a Cause” pageant and coronation night. Three lovely ladies are crowned as Ambassadors of Historic Filipinotown. Incidentally, Adrian Paul is also married to a Filipina-Canadian and they met when both attended a beauty pageant in Toronto.
